<description>Public Contact after Reply for Outlook (Public CAR for Outlook) is an addon for Microsoft Outlook, which create automatically Outlook contacts after reply to a received E-Mail. This function is supported in Outlook-Express but not in Outlook. In Outlook-Express you can find this function under „Options“ as “ Add addresses automatically to Contacts after reply“. Again, this is an addon for Outlook, not for Outlook-Express. We developed this technically meaningful function with this addon for Outlook as Freeware. If you should have e-mails with several e-mail addresses in the “From” field, for each of these E-Mail addresses a seperate contact will be create in Outlook. Public CAR for Outlook protect your for dupes. This addon will compare the existing e-mail addresses with the new one. No dupes are produced with this addon for Outlook, if it concerns the same e-mail address. Public CAR for Outlook examines also additional Outlook contact files for already existing e-mail addresses. All e-mail addresses can be included into the examination. Public CAR for Outlook support additionally the automatic storage of the contacts in Outlook and also the previous treatment of the contacts in Outlook. Public Contact after Reply for Outlook support all Outlook versions, Public ShareFolder or Microsoft Exchange server. The settings are safed for every user and for each Outlook profile. You lost a lot of contacts because there is no default automatically function in Microsoft Outlook to import the existing e-mail-addresses in Outlook or to save the e-mail addresses from the e-mail that you reply. This addon for Microsoft Outlook was developed by our the daily experiences. Public Contact after Reply for Outlook supports naturally also common contacts files of Public ShareFolder or of the Microsoft Exchange Server (Public Folders). Public Contact after Reply for Outlook is a freeware addon for Outlook</description>

In response to your reply to my first response.

You said your manual mentions Exchange isn't supported. On your website it says:

Public Contact after Reply for Outlook support all Outlook versions, Public ShareFolder or Microsoft Exchange server.

So I tried it with our Exchange server. I only found out when you replied that you do not support exchange.

In the manual is a list of supported Windows, Outlook or Exchange versions:

Outlook® Versionen:

Outlook® 97
Outlook® 98 im IMO und CW Modus
Outlook® 2000 im IMO und CW Modus
Outlook® 2002
Outlook® 2003

Not Outlook 2007 (until now), but more important: No Exchange.

I think, if a developer writes in a manual, that a software supports Outlook, it does not have to support Exchange, so a rating of "1" is not fair. My meaning.

Kind regards

Oliver

I downloaded and installed it. It appeared in Outlook's Options but it does not function. I made sure it was activated and I selected my Contact list to make updates to. I replied to messages and sent new messages to people not in my Contact list. They were not added.

I had no time to play with this program. It didn't work out-of-the-box so I uninstalled it and am trying other programs.

Note: our email systems run from Exchange so our Contact lists are stored on the Exchange server, not in regular files on a hard drive. Maybe PublicCAR doesn't support that.
